What AI agents cost a UK business
An AI agent from Codebased is priced like a member of staff: one monthly amount per agent, with no build fee and nothing to pay up front. Most agents are £550 a month. Agents doing heavier work, meaning scheduling, front desk and compliance checking, are £900 a month. Where one agent covers several jobs, each additional job it takes on adds £100 a month.
Every engagement opens with a £3,500 discovery. That covers an audit of the systems an agent would touch, a workshop to capture the rules your people apply today, and a roadmap that prices each agent individually. The roadmap is yours whether or not you go ahead. Agents then run on a three-year agreement, which is what lets us carry the build cost rather than invoicing it.
The monthly price covers hosting and infrastructure, model usage, upgrades as better models are released, monitoring, support, framework updates, and ongoing tuning as your team feeds back on the work. There are no tiers and no usage charges.

Is there a build fee or an up-front cost?
No. Building the agent is carried inside the monthly price, which is why agents run on a three-year agreement. The only one-off cost is the £3,500 discovery.
What does the monthly price include?
Hosting and infrastructure, model usage, upgrades whenever a better model is released, monitoring and support, updates to the framework the agent runs on, and continuing improvements to the agent as your team feeds back.
How quickly can an agent go live?
Most agents are working within two to four weeks of discovery. Where a business needs several, they go live in waves so each one proves itself on real work before the next is built.
Do our systems need an API?
It helps, but it is not a requirement. Where a system has no API we build an access layer for it. Discovery establishes which of your systems need one, which is the single answer that moves the price most.
Can an AI agent work with bespoke or custom software?
Yes, and bespoke software is usually the easier case. Nothing about a vendor's product limits what data an agent can reach, and we can work alongside whoever maintains your system to open up whatever the agent needs.
Are the agents fully autonomous?
No, and deliberately so. Every agent works under human sign-off. Anything leaving your business waits for a person to approve it, and every action an agent takes is logged.
What size of business is this built for?
Businesses turning over roughly £3m to £20m, where several people spend most of the week on repetitive administrative work. Below that, off-the-shelf subscription tools usually make more sense and we will say so.
