Use the software and app calculator when the answer is a system: a job tracker for the office, a booking platform for customers, an app your field team carries around. It handles internal tools and customer-facing products, and it asks different questions depending on which you pick.
Use the AI agent calculator when the process already exists and the problem is that it takes too many hours. Quoting, inbox triage, supplier chasing, report writing. The tool costs the agent against the salaries of the people currently doing that work.
A fair number of businesses end up doing both, because the agent needs somewhere to write its results and the system needs something to keep it fed.

- Answered properly, a run usually lands inside the range of the proposal we would go on to write. The gap comes from what the tool cannot see about your existing systems.
- Will you chase me afterwards?
- Only if you submit your details and ask us to. The calculators work anonymously.
- Can I come back to a half-finished estimate?
- Yes. Both tools remember where you got to on the same browser, so you can go and find a salary figure and pick it up later.
